ENGLISH YEAR 5

Future tense (Will)

Hello Year 5 students! Here you´ve got a review of the future tense (will).
  • We use the auxiliary WILL to write sentences in future.
For example: I will go to the cinema ↠ Iré al cine.
  • To write affirmative sentences, we must follow the structure:
SUBJECT + WILL + VERB (infinitive) + COMPLEMENTS
My dad           will                     eat                         pizza tonight.
  • To write negative sentences, we must follow the structure:
SUBJECT + WON´T (WILL NOT) + VERB (infinitivE) + COMPLEMENTS
Sarah                   won´t                                 build                           a house next year.
  • To write interrogative sentences, we must follow the structure:
WILL + SUBJECT + VERB (infinitive) + COMPLEMENTS
Will           you                      go                          to the park tomorrow?
  • Moreover, we can use TIME MARKERS, which are words or expressions used to talk about the future. Some of the ones we learnt are:
In a month´s time ↠ en un mes.
Next week ↠ la semana que viene.
         Tomorrow ↠ mañana.
         Soon ↠ pronto.
         Later ↠ después.

In THIS LINK you can find two games to practise. Enjoy!
